Elderberry Gummy Bear Recipe

Elderberry Gummy Bears are a great way to get some immune system building snack that is full of antioxidants.  And best yet, your kids are likely to love eating them.

The organic beef gelatin adds protein and is a much healthier choice for this recipe than store bought, boxed gelatin.  The honey helps with allergies and the ACV is also an immune system builder.

INGREDIENTS:

INSTRUCTIONS:

  • Have molds ready on a tray or cookie sheet so they are easy to move once they are filled.

  • Place elderberry syrup, coconut oil, and apple cider vinegar in a saucepan and heat over low heat.  Do not let it heat over 100 degrees F.

  • Remove from heat and whisk in honey and beef gelatin just until the gelatin has fully dissolved.  You can turn the heat back on to low if needed but be sure it doesn't get too hot.

  • Remove from heat and fill the molds with a eye dropper.  (Our molds came with droppers just for filling the gummies.)

  • OPTION: You can pour the whole pot of liquid into a glass dish and once set they can be cut into squares. (If you do not have molds.)

  • Put molds into refrigerator for at least 2 hours.

  • Once set, remove from molds and store in refrigerator.  You can put wax paper in between them to keep from sticking.

  • They should last 1-2 weeks in the fridge but they probably won't last that long!
