Probiotic Lemonade

If you used our recipe to make cream cheese, you'll likely have some whey available just waiting to be used.

Whey made from natural growth of good bacteria is very beneficial to our overall gut health.  And this is a delicious way to enjoy it.

INGREDIENTS:

  • Juice from 6-8 lemons

  • 1/2 cup of Rapadura (sweetener) or stevia or evaporated cane juice (natural sugar)

  • 1/2 cup whey.

  • 1/2 tsp. grated nutmeg (optional, I usually leave this out)

  • 2 quarts of filtered water

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Place all ingredients in a 2-quart glass container.  Cover tightly and leave at room temperature for 2 or 3 days, allowing the good bacteria to continue to grow.

  2. Skim off any foam that might rise to the top.

  3. Cover tightly and refrigerate.  The punch will develop more flavor over time.

  4. Enjoy!
